Creamed Turkey - Old-Fashioned Ingredients 2 tablespoon(s) butter or margarine 1 small onion, finely chopped 3 tablespoon(s) all-purpose flour 2 cup(s) milk 1/2 teaspoon(s) salt, finely chopped 1/8 teaspoon(s) ground black pepper 1 pinch(s) ground nutmeg 8 ounce(s) cooked turkey or chicken, cut into 1/2-inch pieces about 2 cups 2 tablespoon(s) chopped fresh parsley Directions In 3-quart saucepan, melt butter over medium heat. Add onion and cook, stirring, until tender, about 5 minutes. Stir in flour and cook, stirring constantly,1 minute. With wire whisk, gradually whisk in milk, salt, pepper, and nutmeg. Heat to boiling over medium-high heat, whisking. Reduce heat and simmer, whisking occasionally, 5 minutes. Stir turkey into sauce and heat through. Stir in parsley and serve.
